Frequently Asked Questions

Should you have any further questions you can contact us on 087 236 6518 or info@physiotherapyathome.co.za

Do I need a doctor’s referral to be seen?

Physiotherapists are first hand practitioners, and this is the reason no doctor referrals are necessary to see a physiotherapist for a specific condition. We do welcome referrals from doctors but it is not a prerequisite.

What are your fees?

Our cash fee is R960 for your first appointment which includes a comprehensive initial assessment, treatment session and includes the callout travel fee. All follow up treatment sessions are R950 including the callout travel fee. Sundries used during sessions are excluded from these fees. We can submit session costs to your medical aid which will be at the medical aid rates according to the tariff codes billed by the physiotherapist on the day. There may be patient liable costs involved. Please contact our office if you have any further questions.

Do you accept medical aid?

We accept both medical aid, and eft cash payments upon receipt of invoice.

How long will the treatment session take?

The initial assessment is between 45 to 60 minutes long depending on your physical condition. Follow-up treatment sessions are between 30 to 60 minutes long.

How long will I have to wait for an appointment?

All new appointments will be attempted to be scheduled within 24-48 hours of initial contact. We are available Mon to Fri 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Will I see the same physio each time?

You will be treated by the same physiotherapist as far as possible unless you want a change of therapist or circumstances change.

What to expect from a home visit?

As the assessment/treatment will take place in your home, please make sure that you are not interrupted during our treatment sessions. At your first session you will be assessed and receive a prescribed home exercise program on the day or within a few days after the session. Your follow up treatment sessions will include a brief re-assessment, functional rehabilitation and exercise prescription.
